Utah DPS Investigating Homicides in Wayne County
WAYNE COUNTY, Utah – The Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Bureau of Investigation and Crime Lab, at the request of the Wayne County Sheriff, are providing investigative support and expertise involving a homicide investigation in Wayne County. Multiple scenes are being investigated and processed in Torrey and the surrounding areas.
On Wednesday afternoon, dispatch received a call regarding two deceased females located on a hiking trail. During the course of the investigation, a third victim was located deceased at a residence in Wayne County.
As next of kin notifications are underway, the identities of the victims are being withheld at this time.
Victim 1 – Female (30s)
Victim 2 – Female (60s)
Victim 3 – Female (80s)
We’re asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 2022 white Subaru Outback with license plate U560YF. Please report tips to siac.utah.gov or dial 911, and do not approach the vehicle.
As this remains an active investigation, with the suspect at large, law enforcement is urging residents in the Torrey and surrounding area to take extra precautions, such as locking doors, remaining at home or with others, and being vigilant about surroundings.
