Governor Cox Orders Flags Lowered to Half-Staff in Recognition of Dolly Parton


SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 25, 2026) — Following a Presidential Proclamation, Utah Gov. Spencer J. Cox has ordered the flags of the United States of America and the state of Utah to be flown at half-staff at all state facilities in recognition of the passing of Dolly Parton.

Flags, which were previously scheduled to remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday, August 28, 2026, should now remain lowered until sunset on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in accordance with the Presidential Proclamation.

Gov. Cox invites private citizens, businesses and other organizations throughout Utah to join in this recognition.
